Congratulations to Xfinity driver Austin Cindric in the #22 Richmond/Menards Ford Mustang as he scored his fourth victory of the season in the Henry 180 at the Road America road course in Wisconsin on August 8th. The win follows Austin’s three consecutive wins at Kentucky and Texas, and 2nd place finish at Kansas, which keeps him as the Xfinity series points leader.
Austin and his Team Penske crew chief joined the Richmond and Menards teams prior to the race for a Virtual Pit Tour, to discuss his race strategy, the afternoon’s weather uncertainty and his goals for the second half of the season. Back in 2019, Richmond and Menards also celebrated with Austin in Victory Lane at the Mid-Ohio road course for his second of back-to-back wins. An Ohio native, he honed his skills at an early age at Mid-Ohio, a track owned by his grandfather Jim Trueman, a former IndyCar team owner.
Road America has hosted races since the 1950s, and currently hosts in several motorsports series. This road course features 4 miles, many elevation changes and 14 turns. The challenging course is located in Elkhart Lake, midway between Milwaukee and Green Bay.
